Goodbye

http://www.freewebs.com/morganisrupert/597340%5B1%5D.jpg

This is going to be my last blog that I write, that is until I plan to travel again. However I don’t plan on going to any place far from home because there is nothing better and more tiring than traveling the world. But I do plan to see my friends again to see how the plates have changed since the last time that I visited them. I was not really into science in the beginning of the trip but now that I have lived some of the actual science in the earth. I now have some interest in it and I am excited to see how the earth is affected by the plates.

Krafla

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/Krafla_usgs.jpg

Hello, I am at my last destination which is located in Iceland. It is the Krafla Volcano. This is located at Latitude 65°43'56.69"N and Longitude 16°46'56.84"W. this is at a divergent boundary on land which is quite rare. This is a place where there is a well-known vĂti (hell). This is a wonderful place that is known as the land of fire and ice; this is because the divergent boundary makes many volcanic features show up on the land while it is also covered in glaciers. The divergent boundary also makes Iceland grown in size.

Mt.Everest

http://www.weirdasianews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/MountEverest.jpg
I am at my third check point. Seems like I got my wish of getting a location that is exciting. I am near Mt.everest. and my friend tells me that it is located at Latitude. 27°58'48.14"N and Longitude. 27°58'48.14"N. This i a collision boundary like I told you before. This is in the Himalayan Mountain Range. Which as everyone knows are the tallest mountains in the world. This is because the continental plate of India is colliding with he Eurasian plate. This is what cause the mountains to grow so much every time.

Next Stop

Right now I am at a hotel room in New Zealand. I am not sure of where I am going next. Right now I am just waiting until my friend, Jake, contacts me to see where he works at and to make sure that I don't take the wrong flight. When I get the email from my friend I'll let you guys know. He told me that he studies a collision boundary, and there are many of those in the world. So, I'm excited to see the place that he studies.

Alpine Fault

Alright, I am at my second checkpoint as of today. It is the Alpine fault which is located in New Zealand. this is a transform boundary, this is two plats sliding side of each other. It is between the Pacific and the Indo-Australian Plate. I am here with my friend Jason, he is a scientist in New Zealand. This is located at around 43 degrees S ans 170 degrees E. My friend informed me that there has been some earth quakes around that area, raging from 7.1 to 7.8. This is what usually happens at a transform boundary. Next in my travel plan is the Himalayas. I will be checking in then.

Popocatepetl

I have made it to my first check point, Popocatepetl, Puebla, Mexico. It is an active volcano, it is southeast of Mexico City. it is located in the coordinates 19 degrees N, and 98 degrees W. I was with my friend Carlos, he is a scientist in Mexico and he told me about the volcano he also answered a question that i had for years, how come the volcano is in the middle of Mexico? He said that it was because the oceanic plate was under the continental plate, and that the oceanic plate was melting and the magma was going to the surface. This is a convergent subduction.

The Travel Plan

http://www.chinatourmap.com/world-maps/images/world-map.gif
I'm Just gonna lay it all down. I am planning on traveling around the world no matter how long it takes me. My main points are going to be places where some of my friends that happen to be scientist work at. I live in Mexico, so the first thing that I must go is the Popocatepetl, second stop is New Zealand, third is the Himalayas, and my last stop will be Iceland. I will be talking to each of my scientist friends to see what has been going on in that area. For now I will tell you that I am excited for this trip and that I will be checking in at each of my main points.
